Experience Webisode

Webisode is a fantastic new software product that simplifies the process of downloading and viewing media from the Internet. With the current generation of software, you must search for files you want, download the files via an unreliable network, copy the files to your media center and then load them for viewing. Here at Webisode, we have created an easier way for you to get what you want, when you want it.

Webisode is a plug-in for your Windows® Media Center or Sage TV™. With Webisode, you can subscribe to feeds of your favorite programming, which will be automatically downloaded and stored on your computer, ready for you to view. Webisode allows you to search for content on hundreds of sites and you can also specify your interests or other keywords and Webisode will keep an eye out for programming you might enjoy.

Additionally, Webisode will host great content from our programming partners, many of which you already know and enjoy.

Using Webisode you can subscribe to both standard RSS video feeds and Torrentcasts (BitTorrent™ RSS feeds) from your favorite sites. Webisode will automatically take care of getting the programs you want and preparing them for viewing. This gives you access to a virtually unlimited number of shows, seasons, movies, and other videos whether or not they are currently being broadcast by your TV service provider.

What makes Webisode different from my Windows® Media Center PC/Sage TV?

Webisode is a plug-in that adds functionality to supported platforms. It is intended to augment your existing box, not replace it.

If you miss a broadcast, a normal DVR makes you wait for a show to be rebroadcast, via cable or satellite, so that you can record and view it. With Webisode, you can select a series you want to view, and Webisode will go out over the Internet to find the episodes already available and download them for you to enjoy whenever you want. Webisode will then download the new episodes as they are released.

What is the minimum system required for using Webisode?

Webisode can currently run on Microsoft® Windows XP Media Center Edition or on a Windows® computer equipped with SageTV®. Webisode requires SageTV® or Microsoft® Media Center® to run.

Webisode does not currently support the Linux version of SageTV®

Video Codecs
Please note that Windows Media Center and SageTV® require specific codecs to properly play various types of videos, such as XVID, MPEG, DivX and others. We recommend installing a codec pack that will enable you to play virtually any video file directly from Webisode and MCE or SageTV. You can also download individual plug-ins as needed from the Windows Media Player page or WMPlugins.com.
